FAQs

  • While Ende may serve its purpose for certain traveling obligations, it lacks the charm and allure that Moni has to offer, and options of accommodation and food are rather disappointing to say the least.

Moni is a hub for travelers with whom you’ll be able to connect and share traveling exeriences and tips.

  • 1/ MONI-LABUAN BAJO Express shuttle

As we understand the challenges posed by limited flying options, we are pleased to offer a convenient shuttle option from Moni to Labuan Bajo.

You will cross the island in 2 days with a stop at the beautiful Mbalata Beach near Aimere to sleep.

This is an express shuttle not a tour, but contrary to the bus option, you’ll be able to travel at your own pace.

Price for transport only is 4.000.000 IDR. Cost will be split between travelers.

Please note that you will have to pay for accommodation and meals on the way.

Shoot us an email here if you are interested in this option, and we’ll hook you up with fellow travelers to make this option even more budget friendly.

    2/ FLIGHT:

There used to be a plethora of choice flying back to Labuan Bajo or Bali from Ende or Maumere. Unfortunately many routes have been closed since the pandemic. As of today, there is only one daily flight from Ende to Labuan Bajo (Wings- 8:40AM) and no direct flights to Bali anymore. We all hope this will change very fast. If you want to make your way back west, we strongly advise you to book your flight ASAP.

You can decide to continue further south and fly to Kupang situated on the island of Timor. The capital of the Province has become more and more a hub and is the perfect gate-away to Rote or Sumba.

    3/ BOAT:

There is a new passengers boat (KM Dharma Rucitra) departing from Ende every Monday at 11 PM (sometimes Tuesday at 4 AM).

It stops in Labuan Bajo (Flores) -Lembar (Lombok) and Surabaya (Java).

Ende- Labuan Bajo takes approximately 6 hours and price ranges from 120.000 IDR (economy seat) to 410.000 IDR VIP cabin.

Last we heard, tickets could only be issued in their office in Ende. (we are trying to get in touch with management to see if we can be a reseller).

Please be aware that boat schedule are highly unpredictable.

    4/ BUS

The bus company Gunung Mas runs from Maumere to Labuan Bajo. Buses operate daily, passing through Moni at approximately 8-9 AM. However, it's important to note that these buses tend to fill up quickly, so reserving your seat in advance is highly recommended.

Journey takes between 12 and 16 hours changing bus in the city of Ruteng.
